Travel to Germany
The Germania chorus took a trip to Europe in 2006.
There are an opportunities from time to time, especially for women and men singers, to join the chorus, learn the repertoire and enjoy the sights in Europe.

Thursday, July 13
Leave Columbus Ohio
Friday, July 14
Arrive Munich in A. M.
Guided Tour of Munich ( Frauenkirche-Mariensquare, Market.)
Afternoon check in 3 star hotel. Evening meal in hotel.
Saturday, July 15
Sleep in-morning free time. Lunch in hotel/shopping in Munich.
Evening concert w/local chorus followed by party w/host.
Sunday, July 16
After breakfast take part in Mass in the famous Marienkirche.
After mass, daytrip to Bad Reichenhall. Lunch.
Visit salt museum, climb down into grotto to see how salt mining started.
Alternative:visit to Koenigsee, boat trip on lake (extra cost).
Evening meal at hotel/free time.
Monday, July 17
After breakfast load luggage drive route over Landshut-Deggendorf-Passau-Linz.
Cros border into Czech Republic to the city of Cesky Krumlov, one of the most beautiful
cities in the Czech Republic. Check into 4 star hotel, evening meal, free time.
Tuesday, July 18
Load Luggage, guided tour of Cesky. Lunch on your own.
Continue to Prague, arrive afternoon.
Check into hotel, evening meal in hotel/free time.
Wednesday, July 19
After breakfast, visit the castle Konopiste (guided tour).
Back to Prague, lunch on your own. Afternoon guided tour of Prague.
Evening meal in hotel/free time.
Thursday, July 20
After breakfast load luggage.
Back to Germany by way of Decin and through the beautiful area of Elbsandsteingebirge (the Sandstone formation along the Elbe river) to the town of Rathen.
Lunch in a popular restaurant. After lunch take a walk to the famous Bastei Mountain.
On to the fortress Koenigstein. Alternative is boat ride on a paddlewheel from the fortress Koenigstein to castle Pillnitz. Bus will pick us up and take us to our 4star hotel in Dresden. Check in. Evening meal/free time.
Friday, July 21
After breakfast, city tour of Dresden, including the Zwinger/Frauerkirche, Semper Oper.
Lunch in city. Afternoon, back to hotel, get ready for concert with Polizeichor Dresden, Party!
Saturday, July 22
Breakfast, tour inside the famous opera house Semper, continue on to Meissen to visit the world renowned Meissen porcelain factory. Lunch on your own.
Evening – Konzert im Kurpalast.
Sunday, July 23
After breakfast load luggage. Chance to take part in Holy Mass in the Dresdener Hofkirche.
Continue tour to Baltic Coast and the city of Rostock. Arrive late afternoon. Evening meal at hotel.
Monday, July 24
After breakfast board bus for Bad Doberan. Climb aboard the old fashioned train (steam engine) “Mollibahn”. Ride on train to Kühlingsborn. Freetime.
Board bus to Warnemünde where we will give a concert in the park with the local chorus from Rostock.
Late afternoon, board ship in Warnemünde to take us back to Rostock. In Rostock Harbor have dinner in a popular restaurant accompanied by accordion music.
Tuesday, July 25
Today, all day trip to the largest German island (Ruegen) in the Baltic See, including boat trip along the chalk cliffs. Lunch on your own. On to Sassnitz and a walk on the beach or a swim in the Baltic Sea. Evening meal at hotel in Rostock.
Wednesday, July 26
Tour to Schwerin, the capital city of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. City tour including the beautiful castle. On to the towns of Guestow or Waren, quaint little towns with a lot of charm.
Before heading back to Rostock we will stop in Buetzo to spend a “gemütlichen” evening with a local chorus (Evening meal). Late evening-return to hotel in Rostock.
Thursday, July 27
After breakfast , load luggage and head towards Berlin with stop in Potsdam. Visit castle Sanssouci including the park. Lunch on your own in Potsdam. Continue on to Berlin, meet English tour guide for city tour of Berlin, including Brandenburger Tor, Reichstag, Kurfürsten Dam, and more.
Check in to 4star hotel on the Alexander Platz across from the famous TV tower. Farewell meal and a party in hotel.
Friday, July 28
Bus will take us to the airport in Berlin for our flight home.
Included in price quoted: 48 passenger bus, air conditioned. Hotels. All breakfasts, one meal per day (lunch or dinner), tour guides.

Please note that the timing of the Germania Concert Tour has been changed to July 13-July 28, 2006. We were advised to make this change to avoid competing with visitors to the World Soccer Cup taking place this year in Germany at the time we first chose for our Concert Tour. We still have space for additional participants. A deposit of $500.- will hold a seat for you.
